Clare discovered lampworking last year and developed a real passion for creating and designing glass beads. Clare loves the rustic feel of handcrafted art and uses only the very best glass and sterling silver in her designs, handcrafting every bead herself over a flame in her workshop in North Yorkshire.
Clare’s designs are beautifully simple and feminine and Heart Gallery is proud to be showcasing this current collection.
Wow! What a great week it has been! New and exciting work is starting to arrive and I have met with some lovely designer/makers this week who are keen to showcase in Heart Gallery at some point this year. I will upload images over the next few days as and when I receive them from my designer/makers but just for now to whet your appetite this image is fab. Karen Shapley is a ceramics and textile artist and I am showcasing a small range of hers that includes these ‘frilly jugs’ which I think are just amazing. There are 3 ‘frilly jugs’ and at only £115 I am certain that they won’t be hanging around for too long.

There are 3 new jewellery ranges in from local designer/makers working in silver, precious metal clay (99.9% pure silver) and lampwork glass beads. Happy New Year to all my loyal customers old and new. 2007 was amazing and I am overwhelmed by the support from everyone, thank you. 2008 has started off at the right pace and many new designer/makers have contacted me from the website wanting to showcase their work in Heart Gallery. This new work will start to dribble in from next week right through to Easter so do make sure you call at Heart sometime in the near future.
I will be posting images soon so keep your eyes peeled and you won’t miss out! My New Year’s Resolution was to finally get to grips with blogging and also with my flickr account so please look forward to regular updates from me – some may just be chatty notes to keep you updated and others eventually will be more detailed with images and information on how to buy my ‘WHAT’S HOT AT HEART’ pieces. Valentines Day will soon be upon us so if your heart and soul is into this romantic day and you like to give (and who doesn’t) then there will be lots of new ideas from specialists in jewellery, ceramics and textiles and some gorgeous handmade cards too!
Following on will be Mothers Day and again some lovely jewellery inspired by nature will be displayed in the main Gallery with some great gift ideas in our new ‘Life & Style’ room which was launched October last year and has gone from strength to strength.
