June 22, 2008Summer was celebrated in style …. despite the rain!
June 22, 2008Yesterday’s launch was not affected by the appalling weather in Hebden Bridge. I had just forgotten that Summer in our valley involves a brolly! There was a great turnout and the new Mayor of Hebden, Councillor Susan Press, braved the weather in all her finery to attend in the afternoon – she even treated herself to a beautiful glass hanging by one of my new designer/makers, Liesel Barker.
Locally bought Scottish strawberries were served with either pink fizz, bucks fizz or fresh orange juice creating the right atmosphere to celebrate summer in Heart Gallery.
My favourite pieces in Heart Gallery at the moment are the fantastic ‘alternative’ to the jewellery box by lovely mother and daughter team, Becks and Susan. The girls even made the ten hour round trip to Heart Gallery yesterday and they had a great time meeting other makers and chatting with customers. You will not be disappointed with their amazing textile work so here are some images to whet your appetite but do please call in to see how these wonderful pieces look after your jewellery so perfectly. I truly believe that no dressing table should be without one … enjoy!

June 19, 2008Not given you any news for a while but that is because life has been so, so busy getting this exhibition organised for this Saturday. I must say all the hard work has been worth it and Heart Gallery is looking fantastic …. as usual. I will post some internal pictures up soon but here is an image of one of the pieces on show to whet your appetite and I hope you will visit soon.

A heartfelt welcome has gone out to Gregg McDonald as he arrives at Heart
Gallery in a blaze of colour! Heart Gallery's newest resident designer/maker
was trading from The Corn Exchange in Leeds when new owners decided to change
direction forcing many talented people to look elsewhere for suitable
retail premises.
