Own Art to take home
The Own Art scheme is designed to make it easy and affordable for everyone to buy contemporary works of art and craft including jewellery, paintings, photography, sculpture, glassware, ceramics, textiles and furniture.
You can borrow up to £2,000, or as little as £100, and pay back the loan in 10 monthly installments – interest free. The scheme is available through a network of over 250 Galleries across the country.
|Arts Council England aims to put the arts at the heart of national life. One of the ways they do this is to encourage people to live with art they love. They also want to help artists live by their creative output and support galleries who sell high quality contemporary art.

Offer subject to age and status. Terms and conditions apply.
What can I buy?
Currently, around 250 galleries across England are registered Own Art outlets and now Heart Gallery has joined them.
You can buy jewellery, paintings, sculpture, glassware, ceramics, photography and textiles; in fact, you can buy almost anything by a living artist that you see in Heart Gallery
Heart Gallery can also help you commission something unique by an artist you admire.
How do I Own Art?
Visit Heart Gallery and find something that you want to buy from our ever-expanding collections from UK based designers and makers. You can then apply for an Own Art loan to finance your purchase by spreading the cost over 10 months – interest free.
To be eligible to apply for a loan you need to be:
Over 18 years old
A permanent UK resident
In possession of a bank or building society account that can operate direct debit payments
You will also need to bring two proofs of identification with you – one for proof of signature, such as a debit or credit card, and the other for proof of address. This could be a bank statement, utility bill or driver’s licence.
Heart Gallery will take you through the loan application process which should only take 10 minutes. If your application is successful you will be told almost straight away and you’ll be able to sign the agreement and take the work away with you immediately.
How much can I borrow?
Loans are available for original pieces or limited editions from £100 up to £2,000. The loan amount can be a part-payment towards an item that costs more than £2,000. Or you can buy several lower value items at a time with a combined value of up to £2,000. As long as these pieces are designed and made by a maker as original pieces or limited editions of under 150 and not mass produced then they qualify for this fantastic scheme.
The amount you borrow is then paid back over 10 months in equal instalments – interest free. NO CHARGE TO YOU – THE CUSTOMER.
There is no administrative charge or handling fee when you take out the loan so you will never be paying more for your purchase than the ticket price.
A small deposit is required for commissions.
Typical 0% APR
