And there you have it, a little snippet of new pieces we love and hope you love too….Love isn’t love until you give it away.

Speaking of love, I can’t end this blog post without an image from Kate Lycett though. A customer sadly lost her Dad recently and with a little bit of money he left her she really wanted something that reminded her of him and where he lived so every time she looks at this she will remember the years filled with love that they spent together:

This collection is a glance back to fond memories of growing up in a small seaside town with candy colours, delicate floral petals and butterfly wings representing the emergence of Springtime…which is why she has called in the Reminiscence collection.

Ima recommends hand washing the scarves in lukewarm water, adding some drops of hair shampoo or mild soap. Avoid soaking the silk and roll the scarf in a towel to extract the water before placing it to dry, keeping it away from direct sunshine.

Each design is finished with delicately layered edgings, French seams, antique button fastenings and hand-embroidered details.

The feel of The History Dress Collection is light and fresh with a vintage twist, inspired by dresses from the 1920s to 1950s in Helston Folk Museum, Cornwall; where Claire spent much time drawing and researching. The dresses in this collection can be layered together, echoing the layers of trace and history in the museum dresses. Although Heart Gallery does not stock Claire’s dresses at the moment we felt they needed to be included in this post about her; too good to miss!

The Salt Collection was designed for Cornwall Design Season and was on display at The Eden Project throughout April 2011.  It was inspired by Claire’s drawings of the winding streets of St Ives, the evocative hues of the Atlantic Ocean, cliff-top flowers and the sweeping architectural lines of the Tate St Ives.
