Hank was a man of constant sorrow.
He spent his days troubled by the mass production of low-grade yarn that lined the rails of his hometown. He yearned to cultivate a line of clothing for the sweet things in life. Clothing that was charming and wholesome, strong and admirable.
Then along came Dolly …. with a wiggle in her walk and a giggle in her talk. Together they bore the seeds of a blossoming brand.
Launched in 2006 by Matt Carroll, designer of album covers for The Happy Mondays, and Jill Boughey, Mum to Edie and Milo, Hank & Dolly is finally getting the recognition it deserves. Celebrity fans that adorn their offspring in Hank & Dollys include Liam Gallager & Nicole Appleton, Bobby Gillespie, Damien Hirst and John Squire.
