Stunning Mirror arrives at Heart Gallery … but not for long!

April 4, 2010

Photographs of this stunning mirror delivered to me last Thursday do not do it justice! Helping Bee out of her car with it was like a Laurel and Hardy sketch and it certainly was fun; giving us both a little boost of energy! At over 6ft tall and 3ft wide it was hard trying to find the perfect spot to show it off but we must have picked it as it sold 2 days later!

Bee has worked really hard, as is usual with all the pieces she creates for Heart Gallery, and put in many hours using collage, decoupage and finally painstakingly painting in to her finished design before sealing. It is difficult to decide which is my favourite part of this mirror but here are a few close ups for you to drool over!

Many images will be familiar to you but the text will not as Bee has copied her Grandma’s love letters and worked into them using them to compliment and enhance the finished mirror.

It is safe to say there is no favourite part to it as the whole mirror is a masterpiece of its own and I am so happy that it has sold so quickly. Bee’s stunning mirror is being delivered to its new owner next week and I know that is is going to  be cherished and loved in its new home for many years to come.

Bee has also delivered a ‘Love Chest’, which is a more subdued version of the mirror, and includes all her grandma’s love letters secretly lining the inside! I have a feeling this will not hang around n Heart Gallery for long either!

I hope you have enjoyed this blog and if you have time to pop in to see the mirror before it flies off on its merry way, then I will see you soon xXx

Heather has been a resident maker at Heart Gallery since October 2007 proving very popular with my loyal customers and visitors alike. She has recently launched her new website to compliment her beautiful, creative space in Heart Gallery - http://hwilsonart.com.

Heather makes finely detailed personalised paintings,
thought provoking, and sometimes funny decorative objects,
collages and keepsakes, weavings and murals.

Taking inspiration from the items we hoard and collect,
Heather creates personal artworks, arranging the objects
and mementoes gathered by the client, making them into
a celebration of a life, a holiday or a special occasion.

Heather is mainly known for her immensely popular
Personalised Name Pictures. These are finely detailed
watercolour paintings, with the letters of the name
set in one of many varied background scenes.

Details which can be included are: Date, weight,
time and place of birth; favourite toys, occupations,
hobbies. Family members and pets can all be put into the
picture (copied from photographs provided).

Not only for Babies, these pictures are perfect presents
for Weddings, Anniversaries and Special Birthdays,
such as 21st, 50th, 60th, etc.

Here are some examples of her watercolour Name Pictures which look even better in the flesh so do bob in and see an example in Heart Gallery. Maybe time to have a think about ideas for Christmas pressies/Weddings/Christenings/Anniversaries/Birthdays etc.
