Holly established her business in 2011 as a fashion accessory label through which she could design and make original and handmade handbags featuring unique prints and embroideries.

Holly and Ruby is a combination of Holly’s love of drawing, surface pattern, print and craft.  She takes responsibility for the design and manufacture of all products, from ideas through to production. Taking inspiration from the natural world, current print trends and decorative style from many different time periods, Holly creates unique designs that are trend-inspired but very individual.

This range of wedding styles specially selected for ‘I DO’ form a collection of stylish pieces that make a perfect accompaniment to an original wedding. Playful and light-hearted fun is combined with a sound understanding of style and fashion to make this latest wedding collection.

Holly uses a selection of vintage and contemporary fabrics and trimmings alongside her own innovative prints and embroideries to create this current collection, which offers something for a bride, bridesmaid, wedding party or guest.

Each bag is created in Holly’s Yorkshire studio and given its own name and character. Holly and Ruby handbags are either original one-off pieces or from a very limited edition collection.  Holly believes she offers  a fashion accessory alternative to the high street, blending vintage styles with contemporary trends to create stylish and desirable pieces.

So, predictably, it’s a bit of a soggy Jubilee weekend here in Hebden Bridge but do no fear, there is a right Royal welcome for you at Heart Gallery. Step inside the big black door into a wonderfully magical world of fairies and folklore with dancing mergirls cavorting from the ceiling and surprises round every corner…and we still have our Fairy Wish tree in the garden!

We decided to get in the spirit of things today with a red white and blue theme but then Heather thought she would be our old Queen for a day! We did have a good giggle and one sipped tea for the occasion one did of course!

Our Summer Showcase will introduce new makers to the gallery from June through until August 2012; celebrating the very best of British Contemporary Craft.

At GNCCF October 2011, Heart Gallery was asked to be a prize sponsor and proudly offered an exhibition opportunity to Suet Yi Ceramics which set the ball rolling to find makers that would compliment Suet’s work which is inspired by the beauty of wild flowers, falling leaves, autumn trees and resting birds.
