Xuella Arnold - Jeweller

Xuella has been a jewellery designer/maker for 20 years, since leaving college with a first class degree. Her work is influenced by song lyrics and literature to create poetic images, that are personal and emotive. Xuella’s jewellery is individual and very personal and she likes to create wearable imagery with a talismanic feel, that creates an emotional response.

Silver Bird House

Silver 'Make A Little Bird House In Your Soul' necklace

‘Make a little birdhouse in your soul’ necklace has been a popular one at Heart Gallery for Xuella. The idea came together from wanting to create a modern style locket with a hidden secret, and while sitting at her stall at Cornbury Festival she heard the lines, “make a little birdhouse in your soul” (written by They Might Be Giants) and thought it was perfect line for the imagery she wanted to create. Xuella has always loved music and has always been able to remember all the words to songs … which she has now found has a use in her work.

Xuella has recently seen a lot of interiors done by William Burgess at Castle Coch and Cardiff Castle, which are amazing and she can feel a big influence on her work coming up from visiting them, maybe a cheeky monkey necklace or two … so watch this space!
