Nicola is passionate about expanding her knowledge exploring contrasting materials and experimenting with new techniques. The importance of sketching and having an exploratory approach is essential in the development of her work. Using collage, ink and emulsion she begins by exploring line and form through mark making. These studies are further manipulated and later translate into designs.

Nicola’s cross-disciplinary approach often evokes depth, layering and texture as she manipulates traditional methods such as etching, embossing, hand building, print and collage.

Her jewellery is made exclusively by hand offering unique and contemporary statement pieces. The aim of her current collection ‘Pebble’ was to create a timeless balance of tactile elements focusing on elongated lines and natural tones retaining the beauty of the materials explored.

This collection unites a combination of media such as silver and stoneware forms using elements of leather, rubber and oxidised silver chain to accentuate the line. Each piece is created with care and attention. Designed for the everyday and the extraordinary.

Heart Gallery loved Nicola’s ‘Pebble’ collection and it sits lovely in our cabinet but would sit even better around your neck or dangling from your ears … call in and see it soon.
