Peter and Kate are a husband and wife team working in a diverse range of materials to produce dioramas, 3D models and card modelling kits. They enjoy up-cycling found objects, vintage papers, maps, score sheets, tins, boxes, teapots and suitcases. They are passionate about whimsical modes of transport, travelling fairs and circuses and hot air balloons.

They work from a studio at home in an old Corn Warehouse in the Rossendale Valley, Lancashire. Their home is an extension of what they do and is adorned with found objects of interest, that they have collected along the way.

Peter studied Fine Art Painting at Chelsea and Winchester School of Art while Kate studied Textile design and weaving at Huddersfield and Winchester. They formed Bonker*s Clutterbucks in 2011 as a result of job loss and redundancy and were inspired to make card modelling kits and dioramas through their combined love of storytelling, the wonderful work of artists such as Su Blackwell (a personal favourite of Heart Gallery too) and Edward Gorey and their children’s imaginary friends.

Their goal is to create a diverse range of products and never pigeon hole themselves so that they are constantly changing and adapting.

Their name? It came to Peter while walking the dog on the tops. Peter is bonkers while Kate is a descendant of the Clutterbucks…and there you have it!
