Jaimie devotes her time and attention to exploring the qualities of reusable materials as part of her jewellery practice.
She loves allowing them to shine, rediscovering their value and feeling of preciousness. Jaimie works to to reveal their subtle nature, along with a sense of peace that using a limited colour palette brings.
Jaimie enjoys the tactile quality of her work and finds something familiar and comforting in the sensations and sounds they hold.
Freedom in working with these abundant materials inspires Jaimie, allowing her to experiment and play with forms and construction.
She gathers and organises her collections of interesting reusable bits and pieces as well connecting and collaborating with other artists from her studio in Edinburgh.
Jaimie’s collection is currently part of our REcycled REscued REstored exhibition which runs until 20th October 2013.
