Colour and pattern are a constant source of fascination and excitement for Emma and are the strongest influences on her work.
On her second trip to Japan she travelled alone and found peace and solitude in Kyoto.
Emma took a walk from Gion to Kiyomizu-dera and found herself happily lost amongst the side streets. A tiny paper shop drew her in with a myriad of patterns and colours and a thought began.
Bespoke settings crafted from laser cut shapes and finished by hand in sterling silver are made to catch pieces of the beautiful ‘chiyogami’ printed papers that first caught her imagination.
Semiprecious beads pick out or compliment colours from the original papers.
Emma left her heart in Kyoto…..but her jewellery is now in Heart Gallery x
