Brittany explores the translucent quality and fragile effects that can be produced through the use of porcelain. Taking shape and form as a starting point she creates functional vessels and tableware considering simplicity alongside complexity.
By modifying the traditional technique of slip casting and carving into the plaster moulds, the casting seams are exaggerated and become a main focus of the design.
Brittany graduated from Nottingham Trent University with a BA (Hons) in Decorative Arts in 2012, she was able to experiment with a variety of materials before specialising in ceramics.
She now works from her studio based in, Cheshire and sells her work across the country.
The Seasalt range incorporates colour through tactile glazes. Taking inspiration from trips to the seaside and the feeling of salt on your skin these minimal shapes are frosted with salty blue and green glazes.
