Meet The Maker – Adele Taylor

Adele Taylor – Jeweller and Silversmith

Adele, by her own admission, is an obsessive hoarder. She picks up interesting objects usually because of their texture, (she always has pockets full of rubbish).

From rusting washers, to bits of broken car indicator plastic, all of these objects are collected by Adele.

She then casts parts of these objects in silver and 18ct gold to either create a complete piece of jewellery or to become a part of a small scale object, such as a tiny flower vase just big enough for a single daisy.

Often these hoarded objects are a reminder of a time when they were gathered, on a holiday for example, and therefore the piece of finished jewellery has a hidden significance.

Adele’s family has now joined in with the gathering of things which is perpetuating a continuous evolution of her work…she is happy for you to send her your interesting paraphernalia to hopefully turn into an object of desire.

It’s a while since Adele’s eclectic and interesting jewellery has been with us so we are really chuffed about the Christmas collection we now have … will more than likely be treating ourselves to a few pieces too!
