Embracing a life long love of detail and intricate working processes, Frances creates delicate almost sculptural works using paper cut, stitch, crochet and linocut print techniques.

Her objective is to create works that are intriguing and decorative in their complexity and narrative. Frances is inspired by the duality of fairy tales and folklore, with their roots in a world closely attuned to nature and in didactic discourse.

Her ‘Suspended Papercuts’ are each cut and stitched entirely by hand, before being painstakingly suspended by threads within its frame or mount.
