English award winning designer/makers Rachel Harvey and Lucy Quinn take inspiration from rare and beautiful buttons to create a unique collection of work, which is both nostalgic and contemporary.
Harvey & Quinn are passionate about transforming their finds into beautiful pieces of jewellery with an air of theatricality. Each button tells a story, an intriguing glimpse of a forgotten past.
Their work always begins with one small piece of inspiration, a button and from that they create a sterling silver setting which often reflects their love of Elizabethan and Greco – Roman style.
Harvey & Quinn provide both a bespoke range of exquisite one off pieces as well as a limited addition range of work.
Rachel and Lucy won an award from the British Jewellers Association at BCTF April 2015. Here is what the Sponsors, The British Jewellery Association, had to say: Lindsey Straughton commented that this up-cycling vintage button company run by friends Lucy and Rachel had grown from strength to strength since debuting at BCTF and now included the British Museum amongst their growing number of great stockists
We are really proud to be bringing a small but perfectly formed collection of Rachel and Lucy’s latest work to Hebden Bridge and becoming a stockist ourselves.
Using beautiful rare vintage buttons, some more than 100 years old, Rachel and Lucy have been busy in their workshop creating new pieces of contemporary jewellery with a little bit of history thrown in for Christmas.
No doubt we shall be seeing you soon … Christmas Eve is only 7 weeks away and we don’t like to disappoint so don’t leave your buying until the last minute!
