Jane makes unique, functional ceramics in delicious colours. Her pots have a vintage feel but are made in contemporary shapes. She strives to make work which is gorgeous to look at but also suitable for everyday use.
Pieces are hand thrown and decorated with coloured slips, glaze and ceramic transfers. No two pieces are exactly alike.
Jane uses terracotta clay as she likes the warmth and richness of the colour and the effect that is created when the clay breaks through the softly coloured slips.
Jane is inspired by the colours and patterns of some of her favourite things – from vintage fabrics and ceramics and 18th century paintings, to ice cream and macarons.
Jane’s unique Story range is inspired by her love of illustrated children’s literature and invokes nostalgia and happy memories through evocative storytelling.
Story pieces feature vintage illustrations and text. Sometimes Jane uses quotations from the actual books and sometimes she will match illustrations and quotations (or her own words) that she feels simply fit well together.
Heart Gallery quite often has small batches of Jane’s work throughout the year and we have a small collection with us at the moment which is proving really popular with references to Wuthering Heights and the Brontes.
